September CPI ?3

September CPI numbers headlined at +0.6% as expected, with more than half of that coming from higher gasoline prices.  Core was a tenth higher than forecast at +0.3%, probably starting to reflect how higher diesel prices lift everything else.  Fedwatch still has the chances of a hike in two weeks at less than 1 in 4, but that appears to be just a pause ahead of the midterms.  This is still not consistent with Fed's inflation target, and the prospect for higher rates by the December 9th meeting come in at over 95%.
